I’ve always found that running helps level-me-out but I also run to help manage a chronic condition - it really helps to ground me when I’m having a tough time. My first challenge was the 5k Race for Life and five years later I ran the London Marathon, always raising money for charity. Each achievement has been as special as the first. Whilst I don’t aim to be the fastest, my running has improved a lot since joining the club in 2017 and I’ve met some brilliant people!

I find being part of a running club gives me that extra motivation but has also introduced me to a great bunch of people who each have their own reasons for running. Running – to me – is a way to look after my health and wellbeing, physically and mentally and it’s amazing to have a giggle whilst you’re doing it…
