We've received details of a new and exciting "extreme" marathon that Pyxis Odyssey are organising for September this year. The track will be along the Wrynose Pass – the “pass of the stallion” – so called due to the steep gradients (up to 1 in 3) which needed a well-muscled horse for carriages to cross as well as the Hardknott Pass near Ambleside.
This marathon is set to test the endurance of even the most experienced of runners with its steep inclines and will be a really good challenge for those looking for a new and exciting run to take part in. The route takes runners over the winding roads amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Duddon Valley and the Langdales. Not one for the faint hearted!
If you would like to take part in this new and exciting marathon please see its website http://www.pyxisodyssey.co.uk for more information or contact info[at]pyxisodyssey.co.uk.
