International Snowdon Race 2007

Congleton Harriers is Congleton Borough's oldest running club - we recently celebrated our 25th birthday. We aim to promote all forms of running whilst also acting as a meeting place for anyone interested in running. We currently have well over a hundred members of all ages, experience and ability!  As our name suggests we run across all types of terrain, road, trail, cross-country and fell.  Many of our members enter a number of local races each year and we also enter both men's and ladies teams into the local cross-country league.  We often venture further afield within the UK and Europe for social weekends with the odd marathon thrown in.  We usually have at least half a dozen entrants for the London Marathon each Spring.

Why not come along and run with us - you're welcome to try us out before you join up.

Tue 7:00pm Every week 60-75 minutes Main Club Session - Winter road, Summer off-road
Thu 10:00am Most weeks 80-90 minutes Off-road - click here for more details
Sat 8:30am Every week 90 minutes + Road/off-road.  Includes optional marathon training
Sun 9:30am Every week 80-90 minutes Usually off-road

PLEASE NOTE - the run durations are only estimates - if you cannot run for this long IT DOES NOT MATTER.  Just let us know you're coming along and one or two of us will run at your pace for as long as you can run.  On our main club night, we always have runners at the back of the groups who will stay with the last runner.  However, we suggest you should try to be able to run for at least 6 miles or say an hour.

Most of these sessions start from Congleton Leisure Centre (see map below). Don't worry whether you're a five minute miler or a complete beginner, prefer roads or fell, you'll find someone to run with!

If you're keen to join us, our membership runs from 1 May to 30 April each year. Our fees include an amount per competing member in respect of the compulsory registration fee for UK Athletics which provides you with personal insurance for all certified races you enter and a discount on most race entry fees. Also when you first join up, there is an additional £6 fee for a club vest (this is around half cost price). Initial fees are payable by cheque and then by standing order for annual renewals.
